The National Television Council finally decided to acquit Channel 13 and dismiss the charges it was going to file for the controversial interview of Mónica Pérez with a victim during the fires in Viña del Mar at the end of 2022.
The moment, in which Pérez asked a man who had lost his house and his belongings, how is Christmas going to happen?, accumulated more than 3 thousand complaints in the auditing entity.
However, the CNTV unanimously decided to acquit the channel for the alleged infringement of the General Rules on Content of Television Broadcasts.
According to the complaints received by the Council, Pérez’s interview had a sensationalist approach, all of which would result in possible ignorance of her right to honor, private life and her image.
