The Minister of Public Health (MSP), Karina Rando, confirmed this Monday that the 2023 flu vaccination campaign will begin on April 18.
Like last year, it will be prioritized and stratified, beginning with the highest risk groups. Among them, people over 65 years of age; those who live in residences and spend the night in shelters of the Ministry of Social Development; and pregnant and postpartum women.
In a second stage, the vaccination will include children from 6 months to 5 years; and in the third stage, it will be for the general population, said the minister.

Vaccination will be with an open schedule, that is, you can go directly to the vaccination center without the need to have a previously assigned appointment. Rando said that people over 50 who want to take a booster dose of the covid-19 vaccination will be able to do so along with the flu. Regarding anti-coronavirus revaccination, the minister indicated that the issue is being studied by the National Vaccination Advisory Commission, without a definition in this regard.
